A Detailed Note On Activities Of AIPSCB

The All India Police Sports Control Board is a registered body registered under Society Registration Act 1957 vide Registration No. S2853 of 1965 dated October 20, 1965 under the name All India Police Sports Control Board.

Aims & Objectives

The aims and objectives of the Board is to organise and conduct All India Police Games and the All India Police Duty Meet once in a year on rotation basis and any other event connected with athletics, sports, games or professional Policing with a view to achieve the following objectives

  • Encourage the growth of healthy competition in the field of sports, games and athletics among the Police forces and to foster and develop an esprit-de-corps amongst the Members.
  • Formulate rules/policies for conduct of sports activities among Police forces of India and its review from time to time.
  • Dissemination of useful knowledge regarding all types of sports among the Police forces of India.

At present 51 States/ UT Police Forces and Central Police Organizations are members of AIPSCB/CCC of AIPDM.

Holding of All India Police Games

At present a total of 28 events/Cluster of events are being conducted by various States/UT Police forces and CPOs on rotation basis, under the aegis of All India Police Sports Control Board & Central Coordination Committee of All India Police Duty Meet. Around 12,000 sportspersons (Men & Women) representing various States and CPOs take part in various sporting disciplines each year. It is also pertinent to mention here that during the last Joint Meeting held on April 04, 2015, DIB & Chairman of All India Police Sports Control Board & Central Coordinating Committee of All India Police Duty Meet decided to raise annual financial assistance substantially (Double the amount given in 2011). This would be effective w.e.f. the Sporting event-2015.

  • Equestrian Federation of India
  • Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (Now known as Boxing India)
  • Indian Kayaking & Canoeing Association
  • Judo Federation of India
  • The National Rifle Association of India
  • Rowing Federation of India
  • Swimming Federation of India
  • Indian Weightlifting Federation
  • Yoga Federation of India
  • Taekwondo Federation of India
  • Wushu Federation of India
  • Archery Association of India

Incentives to sportspersons

To reorganise efforts by various sportspersons, the All India Police Sports Control Board provides cash rewards to those sportspersons who secure Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games as per the following details:-

Commonwealth Games Rs.3 lacs Rs.2 lacs Rs.1 lac

In addition, the All India Police Sports Control Board provides Rs. 1,50,000/- to winner of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award and Rs. 1,00,000/- to winner of Arjuna Awards from the corpus of the Indian Police Sports Control Board. The Joint Meeting also approved Rs.50,000/- for the winners of Dronacharya and Dhyan Chand award winners. This would be applicable w.e.f. 2015.

Participation in National Championships/ International Games

Besides above, the All India Police Sports Control Board also fields an Indian Police team in the biannual World Police and Fire Games being organised at different locations around the World. In addition to above the All India Police Sports Control Board organises coaching camps for selected Police sportspersons before commencement of National Championships to which the Police Sports Control Board has affiliation and fields the Police team. The All India Police Sports Control Board provides full kit items and diet money (for 30 days) as decided in the Board Members meeting held on April 04, 2015, to those sportsperson participating in various National Championships and gives cash rewards to medal winners of National Championship to the tune of Rs.35,000/- for Gold, Rs.20,000/- for Silver and Rs.15,000/- for Bronze medals. The Board also arranges for dope testing during various sporting events conducted under the aegis of AIPSCB.
